NOTES: Church dates from mainly from 14th century. it was restored 1840-1864 and in 1881.

NOTES: Church originally circa 1040; a cruciform plan with a tower over the crossing. The chancel was rebuilt in the late 13th century. West tower added in the 14th century and the south porch is also 14th century. The north and south aisles were rebuilt in the 15th century. The nave and crossing are considered important examples of late Saxon work (ie mid-11th century).

NOTES: The castle has been heavily restored.
