NOTES: The playbills on the Theatre's facade are for 'Ivanhoe', the opera by Sir Arthur Sullivan with which the building was inaugurated on January 31, 1891. Opera was not a success in this theatre and in December 1892 it was renamed the Palace Theatre and became a variety theatre.
