NOTES: The original house was built c. 1500 by Sir Robert Lytton. It was part demolished and rebuilt in 1813-1816 by J . B. Rebecca in a Tudor/ Gothic style. Then in 1843-1845 it was extensively remodelled by the architect Henry Edward Kendall, who added much of the sculptural embellishments on the previously modest towers. NOTES: The original theatre was designed by Edward Maufe in 1938 and sits within the late Georgian terrace of Beaumont Street. It was extensively refurbished in 1996 by Michael Reardon Associates, who added some rehearsal space at the rear.

NOTES: The church of St Paul's was designed by John Loughborough Pearson in a Gothic Revival style, built 1891-1894. In 1996 the architect Michael Reardon was appointed to re-order the central crossing of the church, to provide sufficient worship space, and include secular accommodation comprising; restaurant, day nursery, offices and a mini 'shopping mall' of six retail units.
NOTES: Sir John Soane acquired 13 Lincoln's Inn Fields, which with numbers 12 and 14 form the house and museum, and rebuilt it in two stages in 1808-1809 and in 1812-1813.
