NOTES: Formerly the Kecskemet Synagogue, this building was constructed according to the plans of Janos Zitterbarth between 1864 and 1871 in Moorish-Romantic style. It was badly damaged during the great earthquake of 1911and its onion-shape central cupola was replaced with the present Persian-style dome. It was profaned during World War II and feel rapidly into disrepair. The building was eventually restored and turned into a conference centre, House of Science and Technology, in 1970.
