NOTES: The Cheltenham and Gloucester Road Petition was presented to the House of Commons in February 1828 proposing a new toll road to create a better and less congested road connecting the area around Montpellier Spa to the Gloucester turnpike. It had been constructed by 1832 as a sale of land in that area refers to the "new branch road from the Montpellier Rotunda to Haines's Cottage".
