Queen's Inclosure Middle School, Cowplain, Waterlooville, Hampshire: the central spine corridor

NOTES: This was the third middle school (for 8 to 12 year-olds) built for the Hampshire education department. The steel-framed building located next to a 90-acre wood has class bases along one side and offices and service spaces along the other. The middle school system was abandoned in Hampshire in 1994 and this school became Queen' Inclosure Primary School.

Salters' Hall, Fore Street, London: the ash panelled banqueting hall

NOTES: This Livery hall for the Salters' Company was designed in 1968 by Sir Basil Spence, but built in 1972-1976 by his successor practice, John S. Bonnington Partnership. It replaced the previous hall in Oxford Place, which was destroyed by fire in an air raid in 1941.

NOTES: Hatfield House, commissioned by the Lord Treasurer, Robert Cecil, Earl of Salisbury, was designed by Simon Basil, who was Surveyor of the King's Works from 1606 until his death in 1615. The construction of the house was supervised by the surveyor, Robert Lemyinge (or Liminge), from 1607 to 1612.

NOTES: Garbett closely modelled this church on Salisbury Cathedral. It is considered an important example of the pre-Victorian church in Gothic Revival style.

St George's Chapel, Windsor: the choir

NOTES: Construction on the chapel was begun by Edward IV in 1475 under the direction of the master mason, Henry Janyns, and was completed during the reign of Henry VIII in 1528. The choir and its aisles were completed in 1477-1483. The stone vaulting of the nave was completed in 1528.

The choir and its aisles were completed in 1477-1483. Four extra Garter stalls were added to the choir in 1786 by George III.
