NOTES: This drawing is attributed to an unidentified 18th century Italian architect. This church (also known as the Basilica of St John Lateran) is the cathedral of the Diocese of Rome, of which the Pope is bishop. The Catholic Church has named it 'The Mother of All Churches'. It was rebuilt by Borromini in 1646-1649. The entrance front was designed by Alessandro Galilei and completed in 1735.
