NOTES: Mondial House was a purpose built international switching centre, the largest in Europe. However, by the mid-to-late 1980s some of the earlier technology had become outdated and an overhaul was needed immediately. Mondial House closed as an operational British Telecom (BT) building on December 31 2004.
