NOTES: Construction on this building began in 1911 and was completed in 1922. It served as the headquarters of London County Council, which became the Greater London Council (GLC) in 1965, until the GLC was abolished in 1986.

NOTES: The west front dates from the 14th-16th centuries, with the refacing of the towers by Nicholas Hawksmoor from 1735-1745). The Victoria Tower (just seen) is 1860 by Sir Charles Barry and Augustus Northmore Welby Pugin.
