NOTES: Milton Keynes, which incorporated the existing towns of Bletchley, Wolverton and Stony Stratford along with another fifteen villages and farmland in between, was designated a new town in 1967 and planning control was thus taken from elected local authorities and delegated to the Milton Keynes Development Corporation (MKDC).

NOTES: In 1978 Peter Smithson was appointed part-time Professor of Architecture at the University of Bath. In 1980 the Smithsons were commissioned to design two new arts buildings for the University campus. The first called the Second Arts Building was completed in 1981. The second called the Arts Barn seen here, was completed in 1990.
