NOTES: This 3-storey townhouse is said to have been built by Dr Marton, Vicar of Lancaster, c. 1735. The principal room on the first floor has some of the finest Baroque plasterwork in north-west England, which is attributed to the stuccoist Francesco Vassalli. The building was saved from dereliction by the Landmark Trust.
