NOTES: This possibly comes from the excavations under a garden in via Graziosa (now under via Cavour), near San Lorenzo in Panisperna, Rome (see RIBA82205).
NOTES: TIn the arch above the door is a mosaic of the 'Translation of the Body of St Mark to the Basilica' (1260-1270) and below are carved reliefs of the symbols of the four Evangelists, dating from the 14th century.
NOTES: The facade in polychrome marble was designed by Giovanni Pisano in 1285. The upper part, in the style of the Cathedral of Orvieto, was added by Giovanni di Cecco after 1376.
