NOTES: Donaldson was in Pompeii with Henry Parke and this drawing seems to have been based on one produced by Parke (see RIBA95952). This drawing is from a sketchbook entitled "Greek & Roman" covering Donaldson's travels in Greece and Italy, 1818-1822, and a few sketches made in France, 1842.
