NOTES: This bracelet was probably part of the collection of Athanasius Kircher, formerly in the Collegio Romano, which is now in the National Roman Museum (Museo Nazionale Romano). This drawing is in a small Italian sketchbook, dated 'Napoli, April 17, 1815', from Cockerell's Grand Tour of the eastern Mediterranean and Italy between 1810 and 1817.

NOTES: The construction of the New Bodleian Library, intended primarily for book storage, was begun in 1936 and largely finished by 1940. However, during the war years it was used for other purposes and not completed and officially opened until 1946. In 2015 it was reopened following renovation as the Weston Library, for readers and researchers of special collections. At the official opening in 1946 the key broke in the lock when being turned by King George VI.
