NOTES: James Gandon designed the King's Inns in 1800 and worked on the building until around 1804 after which his assistant Henry Aaron Baker was responsible for the works and in 1817 Francis Johnston completed it.
NOTES: Montpellier Spa Long Room and colonnade were built in 1817 to designs by George Allen Underwood and in 1825-1826 J. B. Papworth added the Rotunda, inspired by the Pantheon in Rome. Today the Montpellier Rotunda is a bank.
NOTES: The original construction, a Romanesque pillared basilica (1100-1160), was remodelled in Gothic style in 1307-1312 and completed with a Renaissance dome by Galeazzo Alessi in 1557. [Style: Portals are influenced by Fr. Gothic (13c) but the rest of the facade is 11c]
