NOTES: In 1898 Lanchester Stewart & Rickards entered the competition for a new City Hall and Law Courts in Cardiff, but James Stewart died in 1904, before the building was completed. This is a cropped version of the negative (see RIBA80818)

NOTES: Nerudova Street is situated in the old town and has a number of old houses which have emblems signifiying their occupation. Here is a the sign of a key which indicates a locksmith.

NOTES: The house, rebuilt by Edward Blore, was extensively remodelled and extended by Sir Charles Barry in the 1850s.
