NOTES: Sir Edwin Lutyens designed the house for Edward Hudson, owner of Country Life, in 1899-1901. The garden was an example of his collaboration with Gertrude Jekyll. There was a restoration of the house and gardens by Chapman Taylor Partners in 1980. See RIBA15821 for a black and white version of this image.
