NOTES: When an extension to the existing theatre (1766, Thomas Paty) was designed by Peter Moro & Partners in 1971-1972, Coopers' Hall, built in 1744 by William Halfpenny, was restored as the new entrance and foyer.
NOTES: In 1863 Wyatt won the competition for the new Liverpool Exchange. The arcades which had surrounded the Flags were to be omitted according to the competition rules but local response to the designs for the new building was such that a compromise was reached and arcades were made part of the new plans. The building was constructed in stages.
