NOTES: This drawing is numbered VIII/10 verso in the Burlington-Devonshire Collection. It is attributed to Battista Franco and formed part of Lord Burlington's sequence of Palladio drawings and was used to design the fresco decoration of Palladio's Villa Foscari (La Malcontenta).
NOTES: This drawing is numbered X/2 recto in the Burlington-Devonshire Collection. The top half of the drawing has a sketch plan for the Villa Mocenigo on the Brenta river at Dolo, whereas the bottom half shows two study drawings of Roman tombs along the Via Appia.
NOTES: This drawing is numbered X/12 in the Burlington-Devonshire Collection. The top half of the drawing shows the rusticated substructures of the Villa Madama, Rome, designed by Raphael and Antonio da Sangallo the Younger. The bottom half is a study of a city gate. The drawing is a copy from a plate in Serlio's De Archittetura, Libro IV, f.129 verso, f.130 recto.
NOTES: This drawing is numbered X/15 recto in the Burlington-Devonshire Collection. It includes observations on the construction of the town hall in Brescia, designed in 1550 by Lodovico Beretta. It also shows Palladio's sketch designs of palace projects as well as a design for the Nymphaeum at Maser for Daniele and Marc'Antonio Barbaro.
NOTES: This drawing is numbered X/18 in the Burlington-Devonshire Collection. It shows a plan of the executed portion, as well as an elevation of the terrace wall, of the unfinished Villa Madama, Rome, designed by Raphael and Antonio da Sangallo the Younger.
