NOTES: Boconnoc was Thomas Pitt's ancestral seat which he inherited in 1760. The estate was purchased in 1717 by his grandfather and subsequently the Tudor house was remodelled in the Georgian style. Thomas Pitt did further work in the early 1770s to modernise the house. This drawing relates to the extension of the south wing which was to contain a library and picture gallery. The south wing was largely demolished in the 1970s.
