Design of parquet flooring "formerly existing in the quarter space of the staircase of the Institute, King Street, Covent Garden"
|Artist/Photographer||Britton, John (1771-1857)|
NOTES: The parquet flooring was from the intermediate landings of 43 King Street in which the (Royal) Institute of British Architects had its first headquarters between 1834-1837. The bulding was a town house built 1716-1717, possibly to designs by Thomas Archer, but by the 18th century had ceased to be a private residence. The drawing was presented to the RIBA in 1836.
