Cultural centres

NOTES: This was the first religious and cultural centre to be specially designed and built for the Ismaili community in the West.

NOTES: Built for Cardinal Ricci de Montepulciano in 1564-1574 by Nanni di Baccio Bigio and Annibale Lippi, this villa was enlarged for Cardinal Ferdinando de' Medici in 1587 by Bartolommeo Ammannati. It has been the seat of the French Academy since 1803.

NOTES: The South Bank Arts Centre, known as the Southbank Centre since 2002, comprises the Royal Festival Hall (completed in 1951), the Queen Elizabeth Hall and the Purcell Room (completed in 1967), and the Hayward Gallery (completed in 1968).
