NOTES: Palazzo Vecchio, completed in 1302 and known originally as the Palazzo dei Priori, was designed by Arnolfo di Cambio. The landmark tower was completed in 1310. The Uffizi palace was built for Cosimo I de' Medici between 1560 and 1580 to designs by Giorgio Vasari.
NOTES: Androuet du Cerceau added the horseshoe staircase to the main facade in 1634. Gilles Le Breton was responsible for the Francois I wing built in 1540-1547.
