NOTES: This auditorium for the newly formed London Studio Theatre (1935-1939) was a conversion of Providence Hall, an old Methodist chapel. The auditorium featured stackable chairs (shown here) by Alvar Aalto.
NOTES: Henly's, a car showroom for Studebaker and Jaguar cars, opened on the east side of the Smith's Crisps factory in 1937 and later became a warehouse for Martini. After a fire in 1989, it was redeveloped into offices and the distinctive tower was retained.

NOTES: This branch of the Chartered Bank was the first bank to open in Kuala Lumpur, in 1888.. It moved its premises to this site in 1891 but the original building proved to be inadequate and had to be replaced by this three-storey structure, attributed to A C Norman, in 1909. The building was renovated in 1996 and turned into the Natural History Museum.
