NOTES: The house was built in 1765 for James Murray of Broughton to designs by Robert Mylne, with flanking wings added in 1795 by Thomas Boyd. In the 1830s Alexander Murray commissioned Papworth to design exterior alterations and remodel the interior.

NOTES: The founding of the church dates from 421, but is first documented to 1152 and probably dates from this period. The clock is 1410 and the portico is also 15th century. The church was rebuilt in 1601 after the fire of 1514.

NOTES: Garden Corner is a semi-detached residence originally built 1879-1880 by Edward I'Anson Jr. For Horniman Voysey completely remodelled the interiors of the entire house including replacing the existing staircase and windows and lowering ceilings, as well as filling the house with furniture and fittings he designed.

NOTES: Debden Hall was demolished in 1936. This drawing is part of a volume of 101 leaves containing details of interior decoration, chiefly chimneypieces and mouldings, compiled in Holland's office after 1801.
