Basilica of San Miniato al Monte, Florence: the west facade

NOTES: The church in its present form was built between 1018 and 1063 over an existing 4th century chapel and next to a small cemetery. The geometrically patterned west facade (in white marble from Carrara and green from Prato) was begun around 1070 and was completed in the 13th century.
