NOTES: Milton Keynes, which incorporated the existing towns of Bletchley, Wolverton and Stony Stratford along with another fifteen villages and farmland in between, was designated a new town in 1967 and planning control was thus taken from elected local authorities and delegated to the Milton Keynes Development Corporation (MKDC).
NOTES: Built on the playing fields of the Royal Victoria Patriotic School, this secondary school for 850 boys was limited to two storeys in order not to compete with the adjacent 11-storey point blocks of the London County Council Fitzhugh Housing Estate.
NOTES: This council housing estate in east London covers about five acres and consists of two long blocks, one of ten storeys, the other of seven, built from precast concrete slabs.
NOTES: Built between 1957 and 1961, this mixed high-density and controversial housing development was planned and designed by Sheffield Corporation City Architect's Department led by J. L. Womersley.
