NOTES: Built in the late 13th/early 14th century as a fortified manor house,, it was enlarged during the 15th and 16th centuries, providing some magnificent examples of Tudor plasterwork. The plasterwork shown here is attributed to Nicholas Bellin, an Italian artist employed at the court of Henry VIII.
