NOTES: The present house was designed by Stiff Leadbetter with interiors by Robert Adam (1750s). Architect H. S. Goodhart-Rendel's grandfather bought the Hatchlands estate in 1889 and alterations were carried out by Halsey Ricardo and Sir Reginald Blomfeld, whose music room Goodhart-Rendel disliked but never altered. He lived in the house from 1913 until shortly before his death in 1959 and carried out further additions and alterations throughout that time.
