NOTES: The front, signs and courtyard of the theatre were designed by Easton & Robertson while the interior was designed by Frank Tugwell. Basil Ionides was responsible for the decoration.

NOTES: The Civic Centre comprises, municipal buildings, assembly hall, police court and station, library and a fire station.

NOTES: This building contains the ventilation tower and control station for Queensway Tunnel under the River Mersey connecting Liverpool and Birkenhead. It was shattered internally by a land mine and part of the structure was destroyed by bombing during World War II. Since no fire occurred, it was possible to reconstruct the building to its original pre-war design by Herbert J. Rowse.

NOTES: This is an example of one of the eight tunnel shelters constructed beneath London Underground stations during 1942 by the London Passenger Transport Board (LPTB) for the Ministry of Home Security.
