NOTES: This image is from a volume of drawings (entitled Vol II) by various designers produced for or presented to the Quarto Imperial Club, London, between 1892 and 1897. The bookplate designs shown here are dated between 1888 and 1896.

NOTES: The design features vignettes of Salisbury Cathedral, Laon Cathedral, Bamberg Cathedral and the Basilica of San Marco, Venice. The decorative border includes illustrations of Medieval architects, masons and sculptors at work.

NOTES: This title page design was produced for De Caus's publication 'Nouvelle Invention de Lever l'Eau Plus hault que sa source avec quelques machines mouvantes par le moyen de l'eau et un discours de la conduite d'icele', (London, 1664).
