SOURCE: R. Ackermann. The Microcosm of London (London, 1835), vol. I, pl. 10 NOTES: The Great Hall and other school buildings were rebuilt after the Great Fire of London in 1666 under the supervision of Wren, although the actual work is attributed to Hooke and Oliver. The hall was decorated with an extraordinarily large painting by Antonio Verrio of King James II amidst his courtiers receiving an audience of Christ's Hospital boys and girls.
