NOTES: This substantial steel-framed house on a twenty-acre sloping site was designed by Bronek Katz R. Vaughan & Partners for Mr Fred Kobler, managing director of Grand Hotels (Mayfair, London). An assistant architect of the practice, John Heath, was responsible for the interior design.

NOTES: This is one of the images taken for 'Manplan 8: Housing' in Architectural Review, vol. 148, 1970 Sep. This image appeared on p. 196. In 1968 the photographer, painter, architect and designer, Humphrey Spender (1910-2005), commissioned Richard & Su Rogers to build this house and studio. It, together with the Rogers's house adjacent, was a prototype of a steel-framed house.

NOTES: This was the first children's hospice in the world.

NOTES: This building was demolished and replaced with a nine-storey office building, 49 Park Lane, designed by RHWL Architects and completed in 2009.

NOTES: The special built-in furniture and room dividers were designed by James Gowan and made by the Schreiber furniture company.

NOTES: This development consisted of three houses, each customized for the respective client.

NOTES: Located on a hill overlooking the bay, this building was designed as a hotel on the lower floors with shops at ground level. The rooms on the fifth to eighth floors were designed to be easily converted into serviced apartments.
