NOTES: The building was opened in 1898 as the Centro Mercantil, a department store. The Tiffany glass ceiling (designed by Jacques Gruber) was added in 1908. The building was converted for use as a hotel in the 1930s.
NOTES: The original building was designed by Burnham & Root in 1888. Alterations were made by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1907 and the building was restored by McClier in 1992.
