OTH offices, Kraanspoor, Amsterdam

RIBA93180
Ontwerpgroep Trude Hooykaas
NOTES: The new offices for OTH have been built on top of a concrete pier, called Kraanspoor, meaning 'crane track'. Built in 1952, it was the final stage of a shipbuilding 'assembly line' that spanned the harbour basin. The track originally had two cranes on top of it, but these were demolished to make way for the new development, a long steel and glass box that appears to float above the concrete pier.

Topographical drawing of the Pugins' architectural office at Store Street, Camden, London

RIBA97251
NOTES: This detailed drawing shows the top floor office in the roof space of the Pugin family's house at Store Street, to which they moved in 1819. The use of perspective suggests the drawing might have been made as an exercise in architectural drawing. The Pugins moved out of Store Street in 1823 and into a larger house in Great Russell Street. The drawing was made by A. C. Pugin, with possible additions by A. W. N. Pugin.
