NOTES: Wharram Percy is a deserted medieval village site on the chalk wolds of the old East Riding, now North Yorkshire. The church was used intermittently just after World War II but fell into rapid decay during the 1950s and 1960s. It is now a maintained ruin in the care of English Heritage. During a total excavation of the church in 1962-1974, indications of 12 building phases were uncovered from the 10th to the 19th centuries.
