NOTES: Avon Tyrrell was designed to be a 'calendar house' incorporating 365 windows (to represent the number of days per year), 52 rooms (weeks per year), 12 chimneys (months per year), seven outer doors (days per week) and four wings (seasons). The house and grounds were competed circa 1892 but then in the early 1900s Lethaby produced designs for alterations to the gardens.
