NOTES: Commissioned by Cardinal Giulio de' Medici, cousin of the reigning pontiff Leo X, this villa on the slope of Monte Mario was designed by Raphael and executed by his assistants, notably Antonio da Sangallo the Younger. The decorations were the work of Giuliano Romano and Baldassare Peruzzi.
