NOTES: Situated west of Stockholm, Vallingby was planned as a new town in the early 1950s. The original plan was drawn up by Sven Markelius and following its inauguration in 1954, it soon became world famous as a unique, well-planned city district, and a symbol of the Swedish middle-way welfare state.
