St John Lateran, Rome: the main facade

NOTES: This image is from an album of postcards of views of Rome, entitled 'Roma', probably dating from the late 1890s or early 1900s. The church of St John Lateran was originally consecrated in 324 AD, later destroyed by fire and completed in 1735 to Borromini's designs.
