NOTES: Construction beganon the church in 1846 and it was consecrated in September 1863. The spire of the tower (for a few years the tallest buidling in the world) was completed in 1874. The church was heavily damaged by bombing in 1943 and in 1951 the nave was demolished, leaving the spire and a few walls as a war memorial.
