NOTES: This photograph is dated between 1865 and 1890. Palazzo Vecchio, completed in 1302 and known originally as the Palazzo della Signoria, was designed by Arnolfo di Cambio. The name changed when Cosimo Medici moved the government of the city to Palazzo Pitti, which was begun 1458 by Luca Fancelli with considerable additions being made by Giorgio Vasari in the 1560s.
