NOTES: This is one of the drawings Goldicutt made to illustrate his pamphlet 'Heriots' Hospital Edinburgh. The design of the celebrated architect, Inigo Jones' (London, 1826). The charity school founded by the legacy of George Heriot was in fact begun to designs by William Wallace in 1626 and Inigo Jones had no hand in the designs of the school. This drawing was for plate 6.
