El Corte Ingles commercial building, Placa Catalunya, Barcelona: the facade on the calle Villarroel - Diagonal corner

NOTES: The original El Corte Ingles department store dated from 1962. In 1990-94 Torres & Lapenan were commissioned to design a new skin for the original store and its extension around the northern corner. In 1998 MBM was commissioned to design a new commercial building to the south of the store, which El Corte Ingles bought during construction.
