NOTES: Preliminary design II is almost identical to the final design. The site of the house was chosen by the client, William Taylor, in connection with his experimental designs for dimpled golf balls. The laboratory wing was built in 1920 and the main block of the house in 1935 with Taylor making some alterations to C. F. A. Voysey's designs.
