NOTES: Margaret (Maggie) and Ken Davis were disability activists (both disabled themselves) who in the early 1970s formed a cooperative to build the UKÔÇÖs first fully integrated housing complex with carefully designed flats on the ground floor for the disabled and flats on the first floor for the able-bodied. The site acquired, on the corner of Brookdale Road and Grove Road, became known as the Grove Road Housing Scheme.
