NOTES: John Macvicar Anderson designed the Orwell Park Observatory as an extention to George Tomline's mansion in collaboration with the civil engineer Wilfred Airy. The house itself was designed by William Burn. The drawings shown here are after Anderson's designs and were probably made for a publication in around 1874.
