Design for a ceiling for a room with a semicircular bay at one end (the music room), house in Salisbury Street, Strand, London: plan
|Architect/Designer||Paine, James (1717-1789)|
|Subject||Decorative plasterwork ; Architects' houses ; Ceilings ; Houses|
NOTES: The development of Salisbury Street was a speculative venture by Paine and included his own house. As ornamental plaster ceilings were not a feature of the houses he developed on the street it is thought this design was probably for his own house.
