NOTES: A tunnel originally planned to cut through the steep Highgate Hill failed as it kept collapsing during construction and instead the collapsed tunnel became a cutting through the hill with a viaduct across the cutting carrying Hornsey Lane. This archway/bridge designed by Nash was replaced by a cast iron structure constructed between 1897-1900 and Nash's work was demolished in 1901.
