NOTES: The Festival Pleasure Gardens were set up to accompany the main South Bank Exhibition a few miles away. John Piper designed most of the structures in the Gardens. On the reverse of the drawing is a photograph of a Gothic arch which presumably provided inspiration for the design of the Tower.
